Some businesses cannot put one price beside a product and send every customer straight to checkout. Retail buyers, wholesale accounts, and distributors may have different rates. Larger quantities can change the price. Freight, availability, material costs, or custom specifications may need review before the business can commit to a total.
HPC Cart is a quote-first shopping cart for that kind of business. It lets customers select products, options, and quantities, then send one organized inquiry. Your team reviews the request, confirms the price, and sends an invoice with a payment link. The customer gets a familiar way to build a product list without forcing your business to publish prices that do not fit its model.
When One Public Price Does Not Work
Consider a supplier that serves retail customers, wholesale buyers, and distributors. The same product may have three legitimate starting rates, with quantity discounts negotiated on top. Publishing the highest rate can make an established account think its pricing has changed. Publishing the lowest rate can create an expectation that every customer qualifies for it.
The alternative does not have to be a blank website and a request to call. A quote-first cart lets the customer identify the products and quantities they need. The seller can then check the customer relationship, order size, and applicable terms before responding. Pricing stays a business decision rather than a number exposed to every visitor.
More Than Wholesale Pricing
The same approach can suit custom-parts businesses. A customer may know the type of component, approximate quantity, and intended use, while the seller still needs a drawing, material choice, tolerance, or finishing requirement. The inquiry becomes a structured starting point for that review, not a promise that an undefined part is ready to buy.
Project suppliers can face changing material costs or supplier availability. Sellers of bulky products may need a delivery location and freight quote before confirming the total. A mixed catalog may contain standard items with listed prices and custom items priced after review. HPC Cart can collect those selections together without treating an unpriced product as free.
Select. Confirm. Pay.
The workflow starts with the product list. A customer adds items, chooses required options, changes quantities, and reviews the inquiry. In a configured live installation, the inquiry form sends those details with contact information and notes to the business. The seller remains responsible for reviewing the request and independently checking the product details and final amount.
Next, the team applies the appropriate retail, wholesale, distributor, or negotiated pricing. It confirms discounts, stock, shipping, applicable tax, and any project requirements. Once the details are agreed, the business sends a quote or invoice through its normal process and uses a suitable payment link to collect payment.
Nickel can support that operator-led invoice and payment-link workflow. Another provider with suitable payment links may also fit. HPC Cart itself does not process payments, and the standard setup does not automatically create Nickel invoices, calculate customer tiers, or reconcile payment. Those are separate capabilities, not hidden assumptions about the cart.
An Optional AI-Assisted Inquiry-to-Invoice Workflow

Through HPC Automation & Development, the cart can be the starting point for a separately configured back-office workflow. AI could receive the inquiry, resolve products against an approved catalog, and draft a quote using verified customer tiers, quantity discounts, and costs. Missing details should be flagged for review, not filled with invented prices or delivery promises.
Your team approves the quote or invoice and the customer email, including a matching payment link created through your provider. After payment is confirmed in the provider’s trusted dashboard or a supported authenticated integration, the order moves into preparation or supplier fulfillment, then shipment and tracking. The scope determines which steps remain manual and which integrations can be automated.
This AI-assisted workflow is optional development, not a connected feature of the current demo or a standard cart-only purchase. Invoice creation, email sending, payment verification, and shipping automation require agreed configuration and testing. Any third-party or AI usage costs are separate from the one-time cart purchase.
Try It Before You Commit
The HPC Cart interactive demo uses three fictional products. Start with prices hidden, choose a required size, add several items, adjust the quantities, and preview the sample inquiry. You can also switch on example prices to see how a mixed-price catalog works.
The demo stays separate from a live sales transaction. It does not email the sample, generate an invoice, reserve stock, or charge a card. Its purpose is to let you experience the product-selection workflow. When you are ready to discuss your own business, the separate quote button leads to an HPC Cart service inquiry.
One-Time Purchase, Two Implementation Options
HPC can quote installation and configuration on a compatible website, or provide the files and setup guidance for you or your developer to implement. The agreed quote defines the platform, catalog scope, form setup, testing, and any included support. There is no recurring HPC Cart license fee for continued use of the delivered version.
You keep the delivered files and can continue using them after the one-time purchase. Hosting, email delivery, payment-provider charges, maintenance, and future changes can still have their own costs. Continued use is not a promise of unlimited future development or lifetime support.
This is a practical extension of HPC’s automation and development work: use a focused tool to solve a real operational problem. Explore HPC Cart and request a setup quote, or return to High Planes Company to see how the projects connect.
